AN ASIDE: When I was much younger we stayed at the Sunrise Cabin when the place was called Morris' Last Resort. Recently when I was planning my own family trip to Moab I did a search for the Morris' Last Resort to see if it were still there. One of the search results was this heading: Coyote Cabin Rentals | Nee Morris' Last Resort. When I I looked at that Coyote Cabin website the cabin names were different and they are located in a different area along the La SaL Loop Road, so perhaps the owners are the same but they are now renting different cabins. I'm not sure. I ended up renting in Castle Valley on the other end of the La Sal Loop road. I chose this place since they had a pool and were pet friendly. With that checked off as completed on my trip list I can now focus on ordering some mens glasses from my favorite e commerce site where I usually buy replacement lens along with frames. It sure beats a trip to a closest eyeglass frame store which is a good hour drive away. When my wife first told me about Eyeglasses.com I was hesitant to try them. I was so used to going to a brick and mortar store with my eyeglass prescription, choosing a frame from their limited selection, then waiting a week or two before returning to pick up the new glasses. Being able to select frames and prescription lens online saves so much time. I haven't had any issues. After glasses will be buying the plane tickets and reserving a car rental. I am really excited about introducing my family to the beauty of Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, perhaps a  white water adventure on the Colorado River, and definitely an off road adventure. We might even plan a horse riding adventure at the Sorrel River Ranch which is just down the road a bit from Castle Valley. I'm totally excited!

Nice cabin, but too far from Moab.
We stayed in the Sunset Cabin of Morris' Last Resort while we toured Utah. The cabin itself is comfortable, clean and very quiet. There is a fully equipped kitchen as well as a washer & dryer for your use. The setting is lovely, but it is over 20 minutes away from Moab and situated on the top of a mountain. We arrived at sundown, and after a long drive the last thing any of us wanted to do was go back down the mountain for dinner. If we had realized that the cabin was so far from Moab, we would have brought the food with us on the way up the mountain and we really would have enjoyed the sunset views from the cabin.

Awesome Home Base in Moab
Our 15th anniversary vacation to mountain bike Utah... Awesome! Clean, roomy Southwestern Cabin with bike friendly policy in place. We stayed one week and loved it. Parking right at your door. The wireless internet was down when we arrived but the owners addressed it via traveling two hours(nearest real stores) to get new equipment and it was repaired within a day. Price was great as was our overall impression of the place. Little downer not much is the.. View out your front door is of the next door neighbors huge construction parking lot, but other views are awesome and the place was quiet despite being right on 191. Will stay there again!!! Much better in my opinion than the in town options.

Great Place!
Morris' Last Resort in Moab, Utah is a very special find. It is peaceful and quite since it is 10 miles (30 min. from center of town) out of town up a very winding road in the La Sal mountains. Our cabin, the Pioneer II, was incredible. We stayed 4 nights. Perched on a rugged piece of property with panoramic views. The 1st evening began with 17 Mule Deer & 4 Elk. Nice welcoming party. The Hummingbird feeder on the porch was enjoyable. The log cabin was great! . The place was super clean and well stocked with everything one needed to feel right at home. I can't find anything negative about the place. Will go back for sure. I'm surprised at some of the other negative reviews about the other places they rent in town just off the main road. I'm surprised at some of the other negative reviews about the other places they rent in town just off the main road. They should get their act together because 1 bad review can turn away many other potential guests.

2 different options
The people at Morris's are very nice, and when I had to cancel my room at the last minute, they said they would try to rerent it and if so, give me the credit. They did so, and that was appreciated. We did drive by their properties during our visit, and you need to focus on the fact that they are 2 very different options. The places next to the hiway are convenient to town if that's impt, but not especially scenic and if you are a light sleeper u might hear hiway noise. The places up the road about 7 miles in the mts are beautifully located in a quiet, indeed remote spot near a road that won't get much use--they would be my choice by far, if you don't mind a little drive to town. Nice Surprise
My husband and I stayed at the Sunrise cabin for two nights. As previously stated in other reviews the cabins at this location are by the highway; however the noise from the road did not ditract from our stay. The Sunrise cabin was furnished very nicely and felt like home. The large veranda was a very nice place to sit and watch the mountains. We had two beautiful afternoon storms that we got to watch come over the mountains. This cabin also had a full kitchen, satellite tv, wireless internet and a full bath. The cabin was very clean and the charcoal grill outside was very nice to have.

It is 8 miles outside of Moab, but unlike the other posters we liked the location being out of town. It was just a few minutes drive back in to Moab, but we had our privacy. I liked being away from all the other tourists.

Overall we had a fantastic stay!!

Fantastic mountain cabin
Morris' Last Resort in Moab, Utah was a very special find. We wanted peace and quite. We got that and much, much more. Located ten miles out of town up in the La Sal mountains, we shared the well maintained road with the wandering cows, and the big jack rabbits. Our cabin, the Pioneer II, was incredible. Perched on a rugged piece of property that had panoramic views we were in awe of our surroundings. The log cabin was great! We enjoyed our morning coffee on the porch as well as our evening glass of wine. The place was super clean and well stocked with everything one needed to feel right at home. I can't find anything negative about the place. We will go back for sure.

Cancelled reservation upon arrival
We rented both Pioneer cabins for four nights. When we arrived, neither cabin had running water, as a prior guest had left the toilet running and drained the cistern both cabins use. We were exhausted after driving for two days to arrive and all we wanted was to take showers and make dinner. There were repairmen at the cabins attempting to fix the problem, but it was already after 7 PM and we had no water in sight. In addition, we had brought our pets, after checking to ensure this was allowed. When we arrived, we found a note on the refrigerator saying pets must be crated in the cabins during the day while we were out. This was never mentioned in the multiple conversations I had with the managers about bringing our dogs (nor was it on the brochure or website), and we had…

Not what you think
I took my husband to Moab for his 40th b-day and we satyed at Morris' Last Resort. We stayed from Feb 27th -March 3rd in the sunrise cabin. When we pulled in we could NOT believe it was right on the MAIN freeway!!!!! On the web it looks secluded well it is NOT!!! It is false advertising. All night long you can hear the semi's going by because you are literally a few feet off the highway. The log cabin had a ton of water damaged and was moldy and I am allergic to mold so it was awful. It smells like wet dog because animals are able to going the families but that wasn't that bad and animal lovers will have no problem. We never met the owners and the place has been up for sale for about 2 years. All the complaints that were in the guest book in the cabin have never been addressed.…

We enjoyed the great little Sunrise cabin. It is a perfect retreat after long days hiking with our dogs and enjoying canyon country when the crowds are gone. We even returned to the cabin for dinner “at home” rather than eating out as planned on our last night.

A very peaceful and restful little cabin – just what we needed on this trip to explore Arches and Canyonlands. We took a fabulous jeep trip down into Canyonlands. We will be back! Many, many thoughtful touches in this cabin! Seeing the full moon rise over the mesa, visible from the back porch, was especially a great treat on our first night here!

I’m so happy we were able to make this trip to your beautiful cabin. The views are breathtaking!
