We have loved the time spent at Arches and Canyonlands NP. What has made our time even more special has been coming “home” every day to the beautiful Sunrise cabin. Everything was clean and pristine upon our arrival with a kitchen well supplied with all we needed to make wonderful dinners and breakfasts. The bed was comfortable, the views and deck fantastic! It had everything we needed. We had a little warmer weather than what we were expecting, but no rain the whole time. The view from the deck in the a.m. and p.m. is just gorgeous. When we planned our trip we hadn’t planned on staying here, but our other lodging fell through 2 weeks before our trip. I am so, so happy it did now. We were delighted to find such unique lodging, so clean and well stocked. We especially enjoyed the porch and its vistas. I am not ready to go. My husband has been to Moab twice before and really wanted me to see it. He was right. It is a magical place. We did not do any mountain biking, but we did some extreme jeeping. Highlights of our trip: the Sunrise cabin, dinosaur footprints, mountain lion sighting, petroglyphs, museum in Moab, Segway tour, the Sunset Grill restaurant, the local museum, and the friendly people of Moab. The dogs loved playing all day in the fields, roaming the trails in the National forest and resting in the shade under the porch. We hate to leave! We will miss watching the sunrise over the mountains, the sunset in the valley (best viewed on the 2nd floor balcony) and sitting around the campfire watching shooting stars. We were all pleasantly surprised at its cleanliness, the remoteness and the supplies provided. Internet ads can be very deceiving, but yours was true and accurate! We came here with our 4 boys. On the first day, one asked if we could come back next year. On the second day, one asked if we could move here permanently! It was wonderful to return to the cool mountain each afternoon. The boys loved watching the hummingbirds and lizards and running around outside. Campfires each night were an added treat. When the sun finally came out it was fun to sit on the porch and watch the hummingbirds. It is a beautiful drive to the cabin from Moab and each time we took it, we saw something new. The mountains made a beautiful backdrop for my daughter’s senior pictures. This has been a wonderful family trip. The Barnharts North Platte, NE Pioneer Cabin – May 2008 This has been one of our best vacations so far. The sceneries were spectacular and what a way to rest and enjoy the day than relaxing and enjoying all the comforts and solace in this wonderful cabin. I commend you for being able to keep the place neat, clean and well-maintained. This vacation and our stay here is money well spent. We hope that we’ll be able to come back in the future. We definitely want to come back and there is so much to see and do here, we would probably stay for two full weeks. This setting is so unique. It is generally 10-20 degrees cooler than down in Moab.
